Adult Training Packet | Youth Training Packet | 3-for-3 Triathlon Map

Join us on Sunday, September 25th at the Michiana Family YMCA, located at 1201 Northside Blvd, South Bend, IN 46615. The adult race begins at 9am; the youth/teen race begins at approximately 11am.

The 3 for 3 triathlon is perfect for active families or for anyone who has ever wanted to take on a triathlon challenge. Our triathlon includes all three traditional activities – but with a twist! Participants will run and bike along the Riverwalk in South Bend, with the swimming portion in the pool at the Y. Adults looking for different challenge may choose to kayak in the St Joseph River instead of the swim. We also welcome Relay Teams* of 3 adults to help share the workload.

All proceeds directly benefit our LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program for adult cancer survivors. This 12-week program is offered free of charge to any adult cancer survivor in the Michiana area, and it includes a free 3–month membership to the YMCA. The goal of the program is to help survivors recover from their cancer diagnosis and treatments by working to improve their overall strength, endurance, balance and flexibility through a supportive group environment.

As of February 2016, we have served almost 150 survivors in our area since the onset of the program in September of 2013.

100% of the survivors that graduate from our program have improved in at least one area of their physical health.

58% of the participants that graduate from our program stayed on as YMCA members after the program ended.

Survivors in our program have ranged in age from 26-83.

40% of our LIVESTRONG at the YMCA graduates have chosen to stay engaged with our Alumni Group and keep in touch via our Graduate Exercise classes, our closed Facebook Group, various social outing and local volunteer opportunities.
