Urban Youth Services

Knowledge building, character development, guidance and positive encouragement help our youth develop and realize their potential. YMCA Urban Youth Services is—and has been since 1965—dedicated to being for youth development. We commit ourselves and our resources to positively affecting the overall life skills of area teens and pre-teens. Our innovative character-building enrichment programs are designed to help all kids realize their potential and provide our community with future leadership.

YMCA Urban Youth Services targets at-risk youths in the Michiana area. Our specialized experiences for student 9 to 18 focus on goal-setting, college planning, youth leadership, volunteerism and social development.

We work with teens in all South Bend Community School Corporation high schools as well as Brown, Dickinson, and Navarre Intermediate Centers. Students are referred to us by peers and school administrators or identified by our life skills coaches. Registration forms—which must be authorized by an adult guardian—are available from our life coaches.

We make it our mission to enrich the lives of traditionally under served youths through the Y Core Values: honesty, caring, respect and responsibility. Join us!
